“I rise today to mark an important step in the fight against wildfires with the passage of my Cross-Boundary Wildfire Solutions Act. Like many Western States, my home State of Arizona is a patchwork of Federal, State, Tribal, and private lands. The fires do not stop at property lines. That is why we need an all-hands-on-deck approach to reducing wildfires and improving wildfire mitigation across land ownerships no matter who owns that land. When fires move faster than governments can coordinate, the fire has the advantage.”
